Hello, Igniz here. This is my first public release (but not my first work happy.gif).
I was trying to use a storyboard on the survival results screen and, while investigating if
that was possible, I came with the idea of these fonts as a solution. Since I haven't seen
the SFA3 survival fonts available for MUGEN, well, I created them and here they are.

EDIT: I have updated all fonts, adjusting the size of the letters and removing the black bars at the top and the bottom; I also have added the rest of the alphaphet (and special characters) to survival_nums.fnt. I made double-res versions of each font, too.

There are eight different fonts included on this package (normal and double-res versions):

The bottom left one does not look like standard transparency. Looks more like black dots in form of checkers transparency. The BAD kind of transparency.
How about putting some sort of realistic alpha transparency on it or something? wink.gif

Otherwise, nice work. smile.gif

err... i suppose that's how he wanted to do them, since that's the kind of trans sfa uses
anyway, fonts don't support the trans you said AFAIK

looks great, my fav is the 4th

Oh, I see....... Well, if they don't support them, than that's completely understandable. It would just make it look nicer. That's all. wink.gif

Sorry. happy.gif

My fav is a tie between the bottom 2.

This looks awesome!!! Very nice work. Igniz, this technique can also make great winning scenes very easily. Think about it......
alexlexus
this is awsome , you need to make win screens with this type of knowledge.
shinra358
How can i move the numbers over to the left aligned with the first "t" in Battle (Suvival Battle words)? i dont know if u did or not but could u include the pcx's so the fonts can be recolored?

Wow, such 'Mugeniacs' like the two of you noticing my topic... Dudes, I'm honored hyo.gif!
Ahem, back on topic.
Yes, you're right, N-Mario: it looks like "transparent checkers".
But, as P.O.T.S. pointed out, it's the kind of transparency Capcom used in the SFA series and, as such, I wanted to do them that way since the beginning (I didn't even thought about realistic transparency at the moment... well, not for the fonts at least).

Guys, you have read my mind. I'm planning to work on winning screens, but using realistic transparency on those (after I'm finished with my current SFA3 styled storyboard WIPs, that is).

Err... you can't. You see, the space located between the edge of the screen and the end of the 'E' in BATTLE is actually another letter (I used the letter X). For example, what the message in the 1st image really says is: X24wins. The space between the numbers and WINS is actually part of the 'W'.
About the .pcx files, I'll reupload the package and include them (I also plan to remove the black lines at the top and the bottom, tell me what you think about it).
shinra358
igniz instead of making a story board, make it so that we can input our own words in the winning screen! Customizable winning screen words. as for the moving of the numbers, can u move it to the left? this is so the character who won or lost can be seen.............removing the black bars is a good idea. i cant choose which one i like the most from the bottom 2. Arrrrrrrrrgh! LOL
Igniz
Want to put your own words on screen? Well, I actualized survival_nums.fnt (as well as the others) Look at the first post.

About moving it to the left... you see, it's all designed with the wins counted in mind: when you get two or three (or four?) digits, the counter expands to the sides, that's the reason I made the "Survival Battle" and the "S" with 'extra space' at the outer side (I hope you have understanded me). In any case, if you like them more to the left (or the right), just change the coordinate values at your System.def, Survival Mode section.

And the black bars... well, they have been removed for good happy.gif.
alexlexus
this is very kool i think you can pull off a win screen .
there is a dark chunli and an msh ryu that do it.
shinra358
excellent. keep in mind that i wasnt talking about own words on this mod. i was talking about own words on the winning screen/character taunt screen during arcade that u said u were thinkin about doin.
Igniz
Yeah, I understand what you're saying. But to that, you would have to edit the .sff itself, by extracting the desired image, edit it, then reinset it in the .sff. It can't be done by just "writing the message".
shinra358
well u can rename the mode select words like this so why not this???

hence:

;Title screen definition
[Title Info]
cursor.move.snd = 100,0
cursor.done.snd = 100,1
cancel.snd = 100,2
menu.pos = 159,143
menu.item.font = 5,0,0
menu.item.active.font = 4,0,0
menu.item.spacing = 0, 11
; Names for each of the items in the menu. Names must be in quotes.
menu.itemname.arcade = "destiny's end"
menu.itemname.versus = "versus"
menu.itemname.teamarcade = "team"
menu.itemname.teamversus = "team vs"
menu.itemname.teamcoop = "team ex"
menu.itemname.survival = "survival"
menu.itemname.survivalcoop = "survival ex"
menu.itemname.training = "training"
menu.itemname.watch = "spectator's palace"
menu.itemname.options = "prepare yourself"
menu.itemname.exit = "no escape"

So youre saying that it cant be set up like this with the winning screens? if possible here then why not anywhere else?
Igniz
ĦOh, I got you now! I thought you were refering to a character's winning screen.

Yes, of course you can do it. The Survival Results is a winning screen, after all (gosh), so yes, you can use the fonts for the Arcade and Team winning screens.
shinra358
I am talking about a characters win screen. not the win survival. but a win screen when playing in arcade or vs. But will u be able to type whatever u want the character to say just like u can type whatever u want the menu screen to say?!
Igniz
As I said, yes, you can.
Just open up your system.def and look for this section (just above the Survival Mode part):

;Win screen definition
;This is the screen that is shown when you win in arcade mode.
;It will not be displayed if the winning character has an ending.
[Win Screen]
enabled = 1 ;Set to 1 to show win screen, 0 to disable
wintext.text = Congratulations!
wintext.font = 2,0,0
wintext.offset = 159,70
wintext.displaytime = -1
wintext.layerno = 2
fadein.time = 32
pose.time = 300
fadeout.time = 64

Just change what is written after "wintext.text =" (is exactly the same as for the Survival Mode).

And this is the system Win Screen or System default ending. A character's winning screen is individual for each character (and normally it refers to the one shown after each match), and you can't alter it (if the char has any) without editing the char's .sff.
shinra358
Im not talking about that i already know that. im talking about the winning screens after u beat someone that u said u were working on making. NOT the ending congrats. NOT the survival wins. i was using the above as an example.
Igniz
Then, as I previously said, the answer is NOT without editing the char's .sff, because these winning screens aren't words, but images.
shinra358
But what im saying is cant u make the numbers WORDS and have the rest from the sff? cant u make the numbers only in fonts while the rest of the graphics are "combined from the sff"? Eves menu screen on that screenpack allows this. why cant this? I hope someone finally gets me now. after this i give up.

Ok you can make all the graphics in the winning screen with the fonts just like u did with your survival fonts igniz. the winning screens DO NOT have to be in the character sff. U can put these graphics in the fonts folder and tell the character's .def to read that part from the fonts folders while implementing this in their coding when that player wins. IT CAN BE DONE LIKE THIS. Then this way u can put the changeable words in quotes to been shown just like in eve screenpack with the menu names. IMAGES CAN ALSO BE DISPLAY THROUGH FONTS......... I mean mugen defaultly has customizable congrats screen to when u beat the game by the player typing in what he wants the winning end game screen words to look like. Just like this below is customizable by typing it in how u want. And even if you make it from the character sff u can still program fonts to overlap the screen in the message box to display ur writings for the character (of course this has to be implicated on the screen coding to do this just like everything else). so all in all it can be done this way. and is alot easier than putting it in the character sff.

Screenpack with customizable menus:

Screenpacks default state:

everyone pretty much knows how this looks!

menu.itemname.arcade = "destiny's end"
menu.itemname.versus = "versus"
menu.itemname.teamarcade = "team"
menu.itemname.teamversus = "team vs"
menu.itemname.teamcoop = "team ex"
menu.itemname.survival = "survival"
menu.itemname.survivalcoop = "survival ex"
menu.itemname.training = "training"
menu.itemname.watch = "spectator's palace"
menu.itemname.options = "prepare yourself"
menu.itemname.exit = "no escape"

type it in within quotes or coding and this is how itll show. i hope u get what im saying now.

AND i know that each characters win screen must be different. thats why making multiple screens in the fonts folder with each character reading from his or her own winning screen font in the character def file. tadaaaaa! just like for your invention in the topic.. if u were to make a character portrait as a font and put it in this release then it will show and have the characters have their own in the font folder.<just an example
Kratos_
Nvm, I got it working. Great stuff Igniz.
Igniz
shinra358
Not only the EVES screenpack allows that. It's possible to do it in EVERY screenpack that exists. Now, you have to understand something:
Screenpack (options, names, time) = Fonts
Character = Images

A character don't uses fonts of any sort in any way.

bobby1989
I'm glad they worked, dude. Thanks for your comment.

<s>maybe this is a dumb question but how do I go about putting this survival screen into my game?</s>

whoops. my bad. I should have read the readme first. sorry.

thanks for making these survival fonts. the original survival results screen was very boring!

EDIT: I've encountered another problem though:

jew: Use the DoublRes ones instead. Read the first post of the thread.

ah I see.

I appreciate the help. I'm still new to mugen, and I'm a bit of a slow learner.

I got it all squared away now. thanks alot.
